WTF Congress

I’m really fucking tired of Congressmen talking shit about Obama because he hasn’t changed the culture of Washington. GUESS WHAT GUYS! YOU ARE THE CULTURE OF WASHINGTON! Do you come into my house, smash my windows, and then complain about the cold!? Get the fuck outta here. Of course the culture of Washington is fucked. We’ve got a bunch of hypocritical motherfuckers who complain about the paralyzed state of our system while they shove crowbars into the gears. There is a simple question: what the fuck are you doing about it? How are you going to help me, your employer, make this system work better!? Or are you going to cry and whine like a little fucking school boy and argue about who started it?

Guest Blogging On Psychology Today

An article I wrote on Avatar was published on Psychology Today’s Geek Pride blog.  Check it out here.  I copied the beginning below.

Well, he did it. And I doubt many of us are surprised.

James Cameron’s Avatar finally surpassed his last movie, Titanic, as the world’s all-time top grossing film. Meanwhile, videos exploring… Read More

New York State Politics. WTF!?

Pedro Espada.  Ugghh.  It makes you tired just thinking about it. Really?  A democratic senator switched parties, ran the entire fucking capitol into the ground, froze any kind of legislative action at all… for months… and now he’s under ethics investigations?   For what looks like shady maybe kind of illegal but probably very illegal embezzling… or skimming… Read More

The Gamer Conversations – Per…so…na

The title refers to this cutscene:

Fair warning, expect more Persona posts in the future.

On Wednesday, January 20, Atlus announced the North America release of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable (P3P) for PSP (Boxart and Opening movie at the bottom of this post). Now, this is a significant announcement… Read More

MakerBot: 3-D Printing Made…Cheap!

Printing is bound to be a thing of the past…..

…or is it?

What normal person can’t see the limitations of two-dimensional printing? I know that delicious apple can look really tantalizing flattened on glossy paper after being spray tanned with colorful life. Or maybe that tunnel shot you printed with a little help from some atomic match… Read More

01.25.10 My Top Ten RIGHT NOW

1. ALBUM Acolyte Delphic

Nothing is better than accidentally discovering a band, just happening upon an album cover, thinking this looks different and then finding out it’s the best thing you’ve heard in a long time.  Such is the case with Delphic, an amazing alternative/dance band from Manchester that have all the fantastic layered sounds of… Read More

Star Wars: The Entire Movie in ASCII

My final project in high school computer class was programming the Death Star Trench Run in BASIC.  Still, I’ve got nothing on these New Zealanders.

I can only hope the Lord of the Rings Trilogy is up next on their plate.  That’ll keep ‘em nice and busy until 2015.

Nice to finally round out my Top Three… Read More

Pogo: Source-driven Pop-Hypnotica

I’ve always been a fan of remix culture – anything from hip-hop sampling to officially-sanctioned club remixes and extended mixes of popular radio tunes to, most recently, mashups – as it displays a creativity and understanding of art that often surpasses the original work or works. If you think about it, just about all creative output is based… Read More

10 Songs For 100 Days Of Oil Spill

Tomorrow marks 100 days since the BP oil spill in the gulf. I know they “successfully” capped it, but as long as that sucker is still leaking, I’m saying there is still an oil spill. But this disaster got me thinking a lot about the good old days of folk – when popular music regularly included anthems… Read More

Top Ten Worst Band Names From the Warped Tour 2010

When I was in my formative high school days, going to the Warped Tour was a highlight of the summer. Just old enough to drive, we’d pile about 9 bros and skateboards into mom-duke’s Ford Exploder and drive at high speed to Fitchburg or some other pseudo-municipality in middle Massachusetts, blasting Rage Against The Machine and… Read More
