Richard Garriott Documentary – By Us

SPOILER ALERT: Shameless self promotion (but I figured once in a blue moon wouldn’t be too bad).
Victor and I have been working on a project that’s more or less a dream come true. A few months ago we were approached by Vice Magazine’s alarmingly popular VBS TV .
They were about to start a new series/channel called Motherboard which consisted of short tech documentaries. After they saw Second Skin, they realized we were a match made in heaven.
Victor and I flew to Austin to interview Richard Garriott, the father of MMORPGs and most magical millionaire this side of Richard Branson- he was also the guy we’d most wanted to interview for Second Skin. The first episode in the series is a primer on his life. The second is a tour of his mansion, replete with secret passageways, an observatory, and the largest automaton collection in the world. The third episode is my personal favorite, and is about his visit to space.
VBS seemed to like it, and they decided our Garriott movie would be the flagship show of the new series/channel! It’s the first Motherboard show, and the full channel will be launched in April.
