Five Year Flashback: Top Ten Songs I Was Listening To – April 2007 Edition
Somewhere around this time, my music tastes definitely shifted. It definitely coincided with the fact that I had begun to actively seek out live music on a regular basis.
Some thoughts on tracks that made the cut:
-I saw Clinic open for Jose Gonazlez and the couple in front of me just kept shooshing everyone around them.
-I know. Daughtry. I have quite a sentimental attachment to this song though, since it was on the radio the last time I drove up to my childhood home right after my parents sold it.
-The Forever Thursday song was in a JC Penney ad. It would be stuck in my head for weeks at a time.
-Some kid on American Idol covered the Jason Mraz song. I’m glad that I invested 6 seasons-worth of time into a show where I refer to someone I most likely actually called in and voted for as “some kid.”
-The track from Pearl Jam is a cover – it played over the credits of the horribly depressing movie Reign Over Me, featuring Don Cheadle and ever-so-serious Adam Sandler.
-You may know the Amy Winehouse version of Valerie. This one is better.
