Top Ten Sandwiches

Hooray for the Earl of Sandwich and his delicious amalgamation of all that is good, lovingly placed between two slices of bread (and or pieces of KFC fried chicken). Here’s the list of America’s ten favorite sandwiches, according to TLC Cooking. I’ll go on record as saying that I’m not at all on board with this list, and hope a Popten author with better taste buds redoes this one. But see if you agree. Top Ten Sandwiches

Best top ten list idea ever… questionable execution. Sloppy Joes at #2? Are you kidding me, fucking Sloppy Joes? Have you never had a great Italian Cold Cut sub? Have you never put Thanksgiving leftovers on rye bread and gone to town?

The sandwich is to food what America is to the world… a great but flawed superpower, a representation of a great idea, of the great diversity and equality that can be shoved between two pieces of bread (or fried chicken). It can go forth in the service of great good or great evil. Sloppy Joes… hmph. Maybe a forthcoming Popten post could do the subject more justice.
