shoes

I don’t usually do this (obviously) but the longest week ever has come to a close and this morning I found myself flipping through a Lucky Magazine on the train and I saw an ad for these shoes and I thought to myself “Wow, I love those.” Which may very well be the final sign of the snowpocalypse.

So here are a few things that happened this week, that’ I’d love to talk about:

- Alec Baldwin went to the hospital yesterday under very odd circumstances. From what I am gathering he was upset and someone who wasn’t even with him called 911, but he ended up being fine and was at work later in the day (which is good since last night’s 30 Rock was funny for once). I’m inclined to blame this all on Kim Basinger, because any person who decides that buying a town is a good idea is probably bat-shit crazy.

- Bill Clinton went to the hospital yesterday. So the idea of people going to the hospital was still fresh in our minds, but the greater impact of Bill Clinton going to the hospital was just a little too much for me to handle. Some people you just assume are going to live forever, like your parents and Jimmy Carter. I don’t think it was overreacting that I felt a huge tug at my heart strings at the thought that President Clinton is probably not going to be around my entire lifetime. I’ve been thinking about how to write this, how to articulate just how upset I’d be if something had happend and I’m having a hard time even finding the words, that’s all.

- In less possibly devastating news Regretsy exists. I need constant new additions to the websites that I can check frequently for 2.5 seconds at a time to give my head a break from the work-day. Regretsy hits the mark. A lot of weird-ass people consider themselves crafters (which is part of the reason why, years ago, I closed my Etsy store. The thought of getting made fun of is really scary for me. Interesting since I put myself out there for you guys a lot, but still). A virtual renaissance-fair of awesome, I encourage you to visit.

tigerhat- A hershey kiss just rang the opening bell

- Just in time for Valentine’s day in the year that I’m probably going to get engaged. According to MATH people, not according to something crazy that I’ve imagined in my head over and over a bazillion times.

- The 2010 Winter Games begin TONIGHT! I am so in. I think I’m going to set my DVR to Women’s Down Hill, Men’s Ski Jumping, Figure Skating, Ice Dancing and Curling. If anyone needs me tonight I’ll be on my couch crying about how much I love America and feats of athleticism and the human spirit (especially, if they play this, damn you, Morgan Freeman).

- Finally, it snowed a lot.

(popten survey – was this lame? Can I do this weekly? Is anyone listening? Should I DVR Speed Skating too? USA, USA!!!)

10 Songs For 100 Days Of Oil Spill

Tomorrow marks 100 days since the BP oil spill in the gulf. I know they “successfully” capped it, but as long as that sucker is still leaking, I’m saying there is still an oil spill. But this disaster got me thinking a lot about the good old days of folk – when popular music regularly included anthems… Read More

Old Spice Love Affair

Unless you have been living under a rock, you are quite familiar with the body (of work) of Isaiah Mustafa. Mustafa is a former wide-receiver in the NFL, and currently has a talent contract with NBC. He might be better known to you as The Old Spice Guy (heretofore known in this post as OSG). But just in… Read More
