Fight for Equality…

We all deserve equality, why is this even a fight?  And yet, I find myself gearing up for a trip down to Washington DC to fight for my rights.  It has taken me quite awhile to even dream of being politically active.  I seemed quite content with the world as it was, oddly sheltered both in Chicago and now in NYC, places where being gay doesn’t have to be the first thought that runs through your mind in the morning and the last one before you go to bed.  And yet, despite all of that, my government tells me I’m not equal?  Hatred in our communities is bad enough.  Being taunted walking down the street is horrifying.  Being profiled, excused, ignored, etc.  But not an equal human being?

This is a PSA I directed and edited for the March.  Don’t sit by the sidelines.  Join.  Donate.  March.
