Hey,
Great article, although we do disagree on our views. First I like to say I feel for the westerners and their families that are stuck in Iran at this very moment and either been arrested or run the risk of being so but I would think for the most part those western journalist are there on their own free will. We should negotiate their release and nothing more. I personally think we should do nothing about the situation in Iran, it's not our country and it's not our business, Americans get so into trying to settle foreign issues that we end up getting involved in the bloodshed. We have enough bloodshed on our very own streets, I say let's fight the war at home before we go expressing an opinion or get involved with how other countries ought to be. Even if we were able to get our homeland straighten out we still shouldn't be involved in affairs like what's happening in Iran. Some may say "well it will effect our economy and it's our best interest to have a hand in what's happening" Unfortunately it is true that it will effect our economy under our nations current circumstances but it's not our best interest to be involved. We are involved because of the Federal Reserve which is a privately owned company, controls and profits by printing money through the Treasury, and regulating its value.
With that said it doesn't have to be true and I think if Americans pulled together and support American Industry also doing away with the linear approach to consumerism then we would have more then enough resources to maintain our country and the people in it. If Iran is going to have a civil war then let them, it's their land, their people and their business.
If America had a civil war do you want China to come in and pick a side? Hell, no that alone would probably band the disputing American factions to stand up against China. Bottom line not my fight.
