Ask a stupid question…
By Hawkes Klein
It’s really hard to believe that the election is a little over a month away (not that we’re going to have a winner on Nov. 4th without a huge ruckus but still, a girl can dream). Personally I have a lot of unanswered questions, most of the answers I can find by visiting the candidates websites, reading the NY Times daily, and taking time to talk to my friends, family and coworkers about the state of this nation… One question however I honestly felt kind of dumb asking, and for good reason. Just today a friend who teaches high school expressed concern that her 11th graders didn’t realize how far away and Hawaii is and didn’t believe her that the US and Mexico were on the same continent… sigh… most Americans don’t… have maps….
All joking and harping on the shameful state of NY public schools aside, I’m going to go ahead and ask aloud… Can you see Russia from Alaska?
Anderson “Silver Fox” Cooper has the answer (and it’s genius):

That’s awesome. And props to AC360 blog commenter Jim W. for the line “I can see the moon from my house. I have space traveller experience!”
